Great Lakes Loons News Release

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - The Great Lakes Loons, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Dodgers, have announced today a flurry of personnel moves. Outfielder Andrew Lambo and right-handed pitcher Josh Lindblom have earned promotions to the Dodgers' Double-A affiliate, the Jacksonville Suns. Additionally, Dodgers' right-handed pitcher Cory Wade will make a rehabilitation start tonight for the Loons in Grand Rapids.

Lambo has emerged this season as one of the elite prospects in the Midwest League. He is currently tied for second in the league in RBIs (79), third in extra-base hits (40), tied for fourth in doubles (33) and total bases (218), fifth in hits (136), eighth in slugging percentage (.462), 11th in average (.288) and tied for 11th in home runs (15). He was named the starting left fielder for the Eastern team in the 2008 Midwest League All-Star Game, powered by Dow Corning. The Dodgers drafted Lambo in the fourth round of the 2007 amateur draft out of Newbury Park High School (Newbury Park, CA).

Lindblom has excelled in the Loons' starting rotation following a standout career as a college closer at Purdue. The West Lafayette, IN, native was drafted by the Dodgers with the 61st overall selection in this year's draft. In eight starts, he has allowed just six earned runs (1.86 ERA). In 29 innings, he has surrendered just 14 hits and four walks and has struck out 33. Opposing batters are hitting .137 against Lindblom. In his last start, Saturday against South Bend, Lindblom pitched five hitless, scoreless innings.

Wade, in his first season with the major league club, will make a rehab start tonight for the Loons against the West Michigan Whitecaps. He was placed on the Dodgers' 15-day disabled list August 14 with right should inflammation. Wade is 2-1 with a 2.56 ERA in 40 games this season with Los Angeles and has become a key member of the Dodgers' bullpen. Prior to this season, Wade had just 14 games of experience above Single-A. He was drafted by the Dodgers in the 10th round of the 2004 draft out of Kentucky Wesleyan College. The Dodgers' website reports that Wade could return to the Dodgers' active roster as soon Wednesday, depending on the progress of today's start.

Wade will become the first major league player to make a rehab appearance with the Loons. An updated Loons' roster is attached.

Tonight's game between the Loons and Whitecaps begins at 7:00. Lefty Manny Miguelez (4-6, 4.58 ERA) is scheduled to start for West Michigan. The game will be carried on the Loons' flagship radio home, ESPN 100.9-FM, and online at Loons.com.

The Great Lakes Loons are the second-year Single-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers and members of the Midwest League. For more information about the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
