LAKEWOOD, NJ - The Lakewood BlueClaws (28-26) fell to Greensboro (27-27) by a final score of 3-2 in 12 innings. The loss snaps the BlueClaws 4 game win streak, and evens up the 4 game series at 1-1. The game took 4 hours and 7 minutes to complete, and First Pitch was delayed 27 minutes due to weather.

Lakewood led the Grasshoppers 2-0 after 1 inning, and the BlueClaws would not score again in the game. They got a ton of runners on-base, and had multiple chances throughout the game, but came up just short every time. The BlueClaws were 1-14 with runners in scoring position, and they left 15 men on base. It was much of the same for Greensboro as they were just 4-16 with RISP, and they left 16 men on base.

Top of the 12th inning, Dan Black led it off for Greensboro with a single off reliever Chase Johnson. Isaac Galloway bunted him to 2B, then Ryan Fisher came through with an RBI single to RF to drive in Black for the winning run. Lakewood got the tying run to 2B in the bottom of the 12th, but Drew Hillman flied out to deep left CF to end the game.

Saturday the BlueClaws will try to get back in the win column with RHP Garett Claypool (3-7, 3.63 ERA) getting the start. RHP Rett Varner (6-7, 5.40 ERA) will start for Greensboro. First Pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm on Sunday.
