December 11, 2018 - NBA G League (G League)
Westchester Knicks News Release
LAKELAND, FL - The Westchester Knicks (12-5), the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, struggled to hit shots and saw the Lakeland Magic (7-7) come away, 115-91.
The loss becomes Westchester's second-straight marking the first time this season the Knicks were unable to tab a victory following a setback (previously 3-0).
New York Knicks guard Courtney Lee was on assignment from the club and in his first G League contest, tallied 16 points, seven rebounds and three assists. He was 7-of-21 from the field and 1-for-9 from downtown in a near 31-minute showing.
John Jenkins led Westchester with 19 points and was the lone Knick to net more than one three. The team shot just 14.3-percent from distance (4-of-28) which marked a season low.
On the other side of the ball, the Magic drained 17 triples for 37-percent led by four from Gabe York. York led all with 25 points while Amile Jefferson concluded with a double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds.
The Knicks got off to a slow start scoring just 19 points in the first quarter and ended the first half with just 39 points on the board. The Knicks scored only fewer against Windy City (November 27). The Knicks' 52-point performance in the second half was more reminiscent of its season production.
The Magic even out the series with Westchester. The Knicks beat Lakeland on November 10, 125-104, behind a 41-point performance from Jenkins.
Westchester pays a visit to Fort Wayne Thursday, December 13 prior to a 7 PM tip-off.
