FISHKILL, NY --- 2015 second-pick Mikey White went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, including a go ahead RBI double in the fifth inning, and strong outings by a trio of Lake Monster pitchers led Vermont to a 3-1 New York-Penn League victory over the Hudson Valley Renegades Friday night at Dutchess Stadium.

The Renegades had a great scoring chance in the sixth off reliever Lee Sosa with runners on first-and-third and no outs, but Sosa got out of the jam without the tying run scoring on a 5-4-3 double play and fly out.
Lake Monsters plated an insurance run in the ninth as they loaded the bases with three straight one-out singles and Bolt scored Trace Loehr from third with a sac fly to left for a 3-1 lead. Sosa (1-0) allowed two hits with two strikeouts over three innings for the win, while Tyler Painton had two strikeouts in two perfect innings for his first save as the three Vermont hurlers combined for no walks and eight strikeouts overall.
