
LAFC Travels to the Northwest to Take on Portland Timbers on Saturday Night

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and Portland Timbers will meet for the second and final time this season on Saturday, June 1 in the home opener at Providence Park. Kickoff tomorrow night is slated for 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPN 710 AM, 980 AM 'La Mera Mera'.
LAFC is currently riding its second seven-game unbeaten streak of the year after defeating the Montreal Impact 4-2 last Friday night at Banc of California Stadium. Forward Carlos Vela found the back of the net for a fourth consecutive game, taking his league total to 15 on the season. With the win, the Black & Gold remain in first place in the Supporters' Shield standings with a 10-1-4 (34 points) record.
Meanwhile, Portland comes home after playing the first 12 contests on the road due to construction at Providence Park. The Timbers' four road wins are tied for the league lead with the Impact, and they currently sit in tenth place in the Western Conference with a 4-6-2 (14 points) record.
In Week 2, LAFC earned a 4-1 victory over the Timbers in Los Angeles, which marked the Club's first regular season victory over Portland. Last year, the Black & Gold went 0-1-1 during league play, before defeating the Timbers 3-2 in the Quarterfinals of the U.S. Open Cup on July 18.
