
Columbus Crew SC Midfielder Federico Higuain to Undergo Knee Procedure

COLUMBUS - Columbus Crew SC today announced that midfielder Federico Higuain will undergo Anterior Cruciate Ligament reconstruction following an injury suffered during Crew SC's road contest against the Colorado Rapids on May 25. Higuain is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the 2019 season.
Higuain, 34, recorded one goal and five assists in 14 appearances (13 starts) in 2019. He joined Crew SC on July 27, 2012 and leads the Club in multiple all-time categories, including: regular-season assists (63), regular-season game-winning assists (20), penalty kick goals (19) and corner kicks (747). The midfielder has made 193 regular-season appearances (184 starts) for the Black & Gold, scoring 55 goals and providing 63 assists. Notably, Higuain is the only player in Club history to have tallied at least 50 goals and 50 assists for the Crew.
