Real Salt Lake News Release
SANDY, Utah - Real Salt Lake returns to the field on Saturday, June 1 when it visits New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena. Kick off from Harrison, New Jersey is set for 5:00p MT and will be broadcast live locally on KMYU and the KSL TV app. The match will serve as the return to Harrison, NJ for current RSL Head Coach and former Red Bulls Head Coach Mike Petke.
RSL travels to New York having faced the Montreal Impact on Wednesday where it fell 2-1 at Stade Saputo. Goals from the Impact on either side of halftime ultimately downed RSL, despite a late surge from RSL that saw FW Sam Johnson score his fifth goal of the season.
The last time RSL and Red Bulls faced one another was March 17, 2018, a match that saw MF Albert Rusnák score a penalty kick in the fourth minute and a strong defensive effort from GK Nick Rimando and the back line secure the 1-0 shutout victory.
Red Bulls returns to Red Bull Arena to host RSL having last topped 2019 MLS expansion side FC Cincinnati last Saturday in Ohio. NYRB currently sit 5th in the Eastern Conference owning a 6-5-3 (21 points) record, including a 1-0-4 record (7 points) at home. On Saturday RSL will look to build upon its 1-5-4 record all-time at Red Bulls.
