Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - Soccer fans throughout the Rio Grande Valley will be able to watch Houston Dynamo matches on Somos el Valle, Digital Channel 5.2 for the remainder of this season, the Dynamo and KRGV announced today. As a result of the agreement reached between the Dynamo and KRGV, the station will become the local broadcast partner for the club in the Rio Grande Valley.
Somos el Valle is a bilingual channel available in the Rio Grande Valley on channel 5.2, cable 1240. In the Rio Grande Valley, Somos el Valle is scheduled to carry 20 of Houston Dynamo's 22 remaining matches, starting with this weekend's contest versus Sporting Kansas City. Somos el Valle will also carry 30-minute pregame and postgame shows before and after each Dynamo match. This weekend's debut on KRGV will begin at 7 p.m. CDT with the pregame show leading up to the scheduled 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
Veteran soccer announcer Glenn Davis will call the action for the games that will air on KRGV, with Dynamo legend Eddie Robinson providing match analysis and MEGA 101 star Cindy Burbano serving as the sideline reporter for home matches.
The only remaining matches which will not be televised on KRGV will be Houston's home match against Los Angeles FC on Friday, July 12, which will air nationally on UniMás, and a match at FC Dallas on Sunday, Aug. 25, which will air nationally on FS1.
The Dynamo are off to a 7-3-2 start and currently sit fourth in the Western Conference. Forwards Mauro Manotas, Alberth Elis and Memo Rodriguez have combined for 15 goals and 12 assists through twelve matches, while the back line led by Honduran national team captain Maynor Figueroa has conceded just thirteen goals so far this year.
