Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) prepares to host the Portland Timbers (0-0-1; 1 point) on Sunday afternoon at Banc of California Stadium in the first of two regular season meetings against the reigning Western Conference champions.
Kickoff on Sunday is slated for 4:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on FS1, ESPN 710 AM and 980 AM 'La Mera Mera.'
In Week 1, LAFC (1-0-0; 3 points) edged Sporting KC 2-1 in the Club's home opener, while the Timbers battled to a 3-3 road draw against the Colorado Rapids in what marked the coldest game in MLS history.
Last year, the two sides met a total of three times. With a win and a draw, the Timbers edged the Black & Gold in regular season play last year, while LAFC eliminated Portland from the U.S. Open Cup following a 3-2 victory in the quarterfinals at Banc of California Stadium.
