
LAFC Draws Sacramento Republic FC in Round of 16 of U.S. Open Cup

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will host Sacramento Republic FC on Wednesday, June 20 in the Round of 16 of the 2018 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Kickoff time at Banc of California Stadium and ticket information will be announced at a later date.
On Wednesday evening, LAFC defeated Fresno FC 2-0 in the Fourth Round of the tournament behind goals from Diego Rossi and Latif Blessing, while Sacramento advanced to the Round of 16 after edging the Seattle Sounders FC 2-1 in extra time.
The U.S. Open Cup clash will mark the second meeting between LAFC and Sacramento in 2018 after the two sides met on February 25 for a preseason match - a 1-0 win for the Black & Gold.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the oldest soccer competition in the United States, is an annual tournament open to all United States Soccer Federation (USSF) amateur and professional affiliated soccer teams. This year, 94 teams participated, including all 20 U.S.-based Major League Soccer clubs.
LAFC (6-4-3; 21 points) returns to league action this Saturday, June 9 as they travel to San Jose to take on the Earthquakes at Avaya Stadium (7:30 p.m. PT; YouTube TV, UniMás 46) in the final regular season contest before the FIFA World Cup break.
