LA Galaxy Unveil Capsule Collection in Collaboration with Lifestyle Brand, Port of Long Beach

LOS ANGELES - The LA Galaxy unveiled today the Capsule Collection, an exclusive clothing collaboration with Lifestyle Brand & Vintage sports Boutique Port of Long Beach Capsule.

The LA Galaxy x Port LBC capsule collection will be available at the LA Galaxy - Real Salt Lake match at StubHub Center on Saturday, June 9. The capsule collection will launch at Port LBC (402 St Louis Ave, Long Beach, CA 90814) on Saturday, June 23 in conjunction with a World Cup viewing party, soccer tournament and street festival for the Port & LA Galaxy capsule release event. "Working with Port LBC gave the LA Galaxy a unique opportunity to showcase our club's history while collaborating with a local, Long Beach-based brand," said Brendan Hannan, LA Galaxy Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Digital. "This capsule collection utilizes locally made goods to highlight the LA Galaxy's connection throughout Los Angeles over the past 23 years."

The capsule collection from Port was inspired by the legacy of soccer in Los Angeles and pays homage to the roots of and growth of the sport and community we love. The collection includes a classic athletic looped terry track suit with collegiate style felt lettering applications along with a canvas stadium jacket featuring chenille patch work championship embellishments. A caricature drawing highlighting legacy players from the clubs past by artist Jeff McMillan is a stand out printed tee as an addition to the club's "Since 96" campaign.

"We had a ton of fun digging through the archives of imagery and classic merchandise from the early days of the club, we used a lot of the inception years as inspiration on the capsule collectionÍŸ," said Jim Leatherman, founder of Port.

The look book was shot on a Curtin Maritime barge being pushed through the Long Beach and Los Angeles shipping channels. The walled off barge gave the feeling of an arena style field gliding through the industrial center on the Ports. The commercial and look book were shot with Galaxy players Emmanuel Boateng, Chris Pontius, Daniel Steres, Servando Carrasco, Romain Alessandrini, Jorgen Skjelvik, David Bingham and Michael Ciani.
