Kea Kometani's (2-0; 2.04) outstanding rookie season continued to gain steam yesterday at Alliant Energy Field as the 15th rounder from Pepperdine allowed just one hit in six innings, fanning nine without issuing a base on balls.

Kometani was perfect through 4.2 before allowing a double in the fifth. He followed that with the seventh of his nine K's on the night to end the inning.

Johnny Lujan (3.51 ERA) did not allow a hit while walking two and recording five more whiffs over the final three to earn the save.

Brandon Boggs smacked his 11th home run of the year for his only hit in three at-bats and the red hot Emerson Frostad doubled in a 1-3 outing.

Reliever Mark Roberts and Outfielder Ben Harrison have been promoted over the weekend. Roberts was promoted to AA Frisco and Harrison was promoted to High A Bakersfield.
