Josh Geer has been promoted from the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League to the Fort Wayne Wizards of the Midwest League.
Geer is a right-handed pitcher and was drafted in the third round of this year's draft out of Rice University by the San Diego Padres.
He is the sixth 2005 selection by San Diego to appear with the Wizards. He is scheduled to start Tuesday's road game, the final game of the Wizards road trip against the Southwest Michigan Devil Rays.
