The Southwest Michigan Devil Rays continue their homestand tonight against the Fort Wayne Wizards at 7:05 p.m. with $5 all-you-can-eat pizza buffet night. After Penny Hot Dog Night on August 9 at 7:05 p.m., the Devil Rays are hosting some calendar-worthy upcoming events.
⢠CIR Softball Bash, Wednesday, August 10: 11th Annual CIR Softball Bash featuring Frank Tanana & Dave Rozema. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the first annual HR Derby and autograph session begins then. The seven inning game starts at 7 p.m.
⢠Community Service Personnel Night and Western Michigan University Day, Saturday, August 20: Buster and various Western Michigan University personnel will be on hand. Any fan wearing WMU logo attire will receive $2 off any adult ticket at the Rays ticket office. To have your community service group sponsor a block of tickets, call 660-2287 and visit with Luke for more details. The game begins at 7:05 p.m.
⢠Jam 4 Life, Saturday, August 27: A benefit concert to raise money for two life-saving organ transplants for West McVoy and his brother Jason Vaden. Georgia Satellites, Tommy James and the Shondells, and the Turtles featuring Flow and Eddie will perform. Tickets are $20 for General Admission in advance, or $30 the day of, and $40 for VIP seats. Gates open at 2:30 with concert starting at 3:30 p.m. Fireworks will be shot off at dusk.
⢠Pre-Celebration of Hispanic Heritage Night, Tuesday, August 30: Live music, food & drink specials, a pinata and kids run the bases postgame. The game begins at 7:05 p.m and is sponsored by Nueva Opinion and Hispanic-American Association.
