Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets will begin the new year skating 4 games in 5 nights starting with a visit at Elmira Wednesday, Jan. 3. It's the Komets 5th and final meeting of the season as they lead the series 3-1-0. The Komets won a penalty-riddled 5-3 affair in the last match at Elmira Dec. 9. In the last meeting between the two teams, the Komets doubled-up the Jackals 4-2 on Fort Wayne ice Dec. 22. Wednesday's game at Elmira starts at 7:05pm and will not be broadcast on Fort Wayne radio.
The Komets continue on the road at Port Huron Friday with a 7:30pm start. It's the second of 6 meetings this season. The Komets shutout the Flags in their first meeting of the season Nov. 4 at Fort Wayne 6-0. Port Huron is 8-1-1 in their last 10 games.
Saturday the Komets faceoff against the Mallards at Quad City at 8pm Fort Wayne time. The Komets lead the series 3-1-0. Saturday's game is the 3rd of 6 at Quad City and the 5th of 11 meetings this season.
Sunday the Komets return home to host the Flint Generals at 5pm. It's the 3rd meeting of the season between the Komets and Generals with the Komets winning the first 2 meetings. Currently the Generals are riding a 4-game losing streak going into the week's play. Flint hosts Elmira in a home double-header Friday and Saturday before traveling to Fort Wayne Sunday.

UHL All Star Coach Pat Bingham....Komet head coach Pat Bingham has clinched the nod as Western Conference All-Star team coach. Former Komet Bruce Ramsay, now head coach of the Muskegon Fury, will coach the Eastern Conference All-Stars. The UHL All-Star coaches were chosen according to the best point-percentage in each conference at the end of games played Dec. 31.
Fort Wayne will host the 2007 All-Star Gala Wednesday, Jan. 17 beginning with a player's skills competition at 7pm. Tickets are on sale at the Coliseum Ticket Office. Fans can also charge by phone at 260-424-1811.

Sunday skate with the Komets.....fans are encouraged to bring their skates to the game this Sunday when the Komets host the Flint Generals at 5pm. Following all remaining Sunday games during the regular season, Komet fans can enjoy a free skate, courtesy of Wendy's.
