
Goupil gets Player of the Week award

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Forward Alex Goupil is the recipient of the Bloomington PrairieThunder "Player of the Week" award, courtesy of the Bloomington Lone Star Restaurant.
The 5-foot-8, 204-pound Goupil earned the weekly honor by scoring two goals and adding two assists for four points in four games. His two goals came in a 4-3 loss to Rockford on New Year's Eve.
Goupil also was the team's nominee for the United Hockey League Player of the Month Award for December. In 15 games, the Ottawa, Ontario native scored seven goals and added three assists for 10 points.
The PrairieThunder returns to action at 7:05 p.m. Thursday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against Rockford.
