
Krebs, Wiesblatt Named to Central Division Second All-Star Team

Medicine Hat, AB - Two members of the Medicine Hat Tigers have cracked the Western Hockey League's Central Division Second All-Star Team Tuesday morning.
Tigers Defenceman and Washington Capitals prospect Dru Krebs (Okotoks, AB) & Centre Oasiz Wiesblatt (Calgary, AB) join Harrison Meneghin (Lethbridge Hurricanes), Carter Yakemchuk (Calgary Hitmen), Matthew Ward (Swift Current Broncos) & Jayden Grubbe (Red Deer Rebels) as part of the Second All-Star Team after the completion of the 2022-23 Regular Season.
Krebs was named the Tigers Player of the Month for February this season, including a season where he only missed one game due to being at Washington Capitals Training Camp, but suited up in all eligible games possible, scoring 41 points (8 goals, 33 assists) in 67 games played. Krebs lead the team in +/- this season with +27. The Okotokian recently notched his first career WHL hat-trick in the Tigers 7-2 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings March 17, 2023. Krebs was drafted by the Tigers in the 2nd Round of the WHL Prospects Draft in 2018, 38th overall and was taken by the Washington Capitals in the 2021 NHL Draft in the 6th Round at 176th overall.
Wiesblatt lead the Tigers in scoring this season with 60 points (26 goals, 34 assists) and suited up in all 68 games for Medicine Hat. It was a career high for Wiesblatt in all categories including 11 power play goals and two game winning tallies during the season. Wiesblatt was drafted in the 1st Round of the WHL Prospects Draft by the Tigers in 2019 going 12th overall.
The Tigers would like to congratulate Dru and Oasiz along with their families on an incredible accomplishment this season, with their efforts helping the team make it back to the WHL Playoffs.
Medicine Hat's playoff series with the Winnipeg ICE begins Friday & Saturday in Winnipeg for Games 1 & 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarter Final, followed by games three & four at Co-op Place on April 4 & 5.
