Komets take third straight Thanksgiving win

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets celebrated Thanksgiving with a 5-4 shootout victory over the visiting Quad City Mallards Thursday night at the Memorial Coliseum. It was the 3rd straight Komet home Thanksgiving win as the tradition continued in Fort Wayne marking the 44th consecutive Thanksgiving home game. The Komets are now 27-14-3 in games played on Thanksgiving night in Fort Wayne.

Friday the Komets traveled to Missouri and upended the River Otters 3-1. Saturday night the Komets returned home and dropped a 1-0 decision to the Flint Generals.

The Komets finished November with a 5-8-2 record in the UHL Western Division for 12 points, 17 behind division leader Rockford. The Komets begin December with 3 games in 3 nights over the upcoming weekend. The Komets will host the Muskegon Fury Friday at 8pm and the Rockford IceHogs Saturday at 7:30pm before traveling to Muskegon for a 2pm matinee Sunday at the L.C. Walker Arena.

Milestones.......Colin Chaulk (C) notched his 400th UHL point with his 2nd assist of the night Thanksgiving evening and posted his 300th UHL assist Friday night at Missouri.....Guy Dupuis (D) scored his 100th career goal Thursday night against Quad City......Kevin St. Pierre registered his 75th Komet win for a new Fort Wayne record of wins by a Komet goaltender in the UHL. The previous record was 74 set by Doug Teskey. St. Pierre's victory Thursday night was also his 3rd straight Komet Thanksgiving win.

Komet Hockey on WOWO, and ESPN Radio......most of the Komet games are broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 this year with Bob Chase at the Fort Wayne microphone for his 53rd consecutive season. Some games will be aired on WKJG/ESPN Radio AM 1380 as an alternative when conflicts occur. This week the Komet game at Muskegon Friday will air on WOWO Radio AM 1190. There will be no broadcast of Saturday night's home game against Rockford. Sunday the Komets games at Muskegon will air on ESPN Radio AM 1380. All games aired on the radio will also be available via the internet at www.komets.com Comcast KometCast. Join Bob for the Sprint P.C.S. Pregame Show 15 minutes prior to the faceoff of each Komet game broadcast.
