
Rockford's Tibbetts and Danbury's Daigle earn weekly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Rockford IceHogs right wing Billy Tibbetts has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Danbury Trashers goaltender Sylvain Daigle has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, November 27, 2005.
Tibbetts completed the week with seven points (4g, 3a) and a plus-2 rating in four games played. In Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win vs. Missouri, he tallied three points (2g, 1a). On Friday, he recorded two points (1g, 1a) in the 4-2 loss to Kalamazoo. He netted a goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Muskegon and dished out an assist in Sunday's 5-3 win vs. Quad City. After being held scoreless in his first six games of the season, the 31-year-old Boston, Massachussetts native has compiled ten points (5g, 5a) in his last five games.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack left wing Hugo Belanger, Danbury forward Jeff Daw, Elmira left wing Jarrett Konkle, Flint forward Leo Thomas, Fort Wayne defenseman Guy Dupuis, Kalamazoo defenseman Daniel Carriere, Missouri center Lars Pettersen, Motor City center Adam Edinger, Muskegon right wing Rustyn Dolyny, Quad City forward Evgeny Lazarev, Richmond center Mike Oliveira, and Roanoke right wing Louis-Phillippe Martin.
Daigle finished the week with a 2-0-0 record, a 1.00 goals against average (GAA), and a .963 save percentage (SPCT). On Friday, he stopped 21 shots in the 2-1 victory vs. Richmond. He narrowly missed the shutout as Richmond scored with less than a minute remaining in the game. The following night, he stopped 32 shots in the 5-1 victory vs. Adirondack. He once again nearly earned a shutout as Adirondack scored with under two minutes remaining in the contest. The 29-year-old native of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec has a 7-5-1 season record and is currently fifth among UHL goaltenders in minutes played (752:45).
