Kevin St. Pierre made 29 saves as his Fort Wayne Komets edged the Missouri River Otters 2-1 in a shootout Friday night at the Family Arena.

The lone goal in the opening period came when Colin Chaulk gathered a rebound to the side of the net and fired it underneath a sprawled Kevin Reiter for his 23rd goal of the season. The River Otters tied the game in the second period when J.P. Beilsten guided home the rebound of a Tim O'Connell power-play shot. Neither team scored in the final period and the game went into a shootout tied at one. Kelly Miller and Andrew Luciuk scored in the breakaway session while St. Pierre held the River Otters shooters scoreless. Reiter made 32 saves in the loss.

The River Otters host the Danbury Trashers Saturday night at the Family Arena for the first ever meeting between the two teams. The puck drops at 7:00 CST, and all the action can be heard on KSLQ 104.5 FM and the B2 Networks, located at www.riverotters.com.
