Adirondack Frostbite News Release

ELMIRA, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite fell to 0-2-1 on their four-game road trip, as they suffered a 5-2 loss to the Elmira Jackals at First Arena.

Adirondack took a 1-0 lead 8:29 into the opening period. David Moccia kicked the puck free to himself at the top of the crease, and off of his backhand was able to beat goaltender Matt Meachem to the five hole for his third goal of the season.

Elmira pulled even with just six seconds left in the first period. Jason Sessa took a quick shot from the left-wing circle that beat Kris Tebbs low to the stick side for his 18th of the year.

The Jackals took a 2-1 lead early in the second period, scoring a shorthanded tally. Trevor Burgess led a 2-on-1 rush across the Frostbite blue line, and from the right-wing circle, fed a perfect cross-crease pass to Jarrett Konkle on the far post. Konkle was able to redirect the puck past Tebbs for his 30th goal of the year.

Elmira took a 3-1 advantage just 59 seconds into the third period. After the initial shot was knocked down in front, Konkle found the puck on his stick at the top of the crease and he was able to wrist a shot past Tebbs for his second of the night.

The Frostbite pulled back within one at 12:22. Ryan Prentice took a shot from the top of the circles that rolled on edge, and just crossed the goal line for his fifth goal of the season.

But, Elmira answered back just 17 seconds later as Flo Iberer gathered in a long rebound in the slot and blasted a shot past Tebbs for his second of the season.

Sessa added his second of the night on a goal-mouth scramble at 14:01 to make it 5-2.

The Frostbite conclude their four-game road trip on Saturday with a 7:35 p.m. face-off against the Richmond RiverDogs. All of the action can be heard on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 7:15.

Adirondack returns home on Sunday, hosting the Richmond RiverDogs at 5:15 p.m. on another Family Four Pack Night. Fans can purchase four tickets, four slices of pizza, and four sodas for $50.
