Turner was on the mound to begin the second inning. LHP Kyle Kubat started the game on Friday before rain and wet grounds suspended the game.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth inning when the Knights tacked on two runs against the Norfolk bullpen. OF Jacob Scavuzzo launched his first home run with the Knights this season. His solo shot came in the two-run sixth inning. With a 4-2 lead, the Tides battled back to tie the game at 4-4 in the top of the eighth inning on a two-run single from Jesús Sucre. In the bottom of the ninth inning, 2B Danny Mendick hit a sacrifice fly to end the game. Scavuzzo, who led the inning off with a walk, scored the game-winning run for the Knights. The win was Charlotte's 31st at BB&T Ballpark this season.

RHP Jimmy Cordero (3-1, 0.61) earned the win out of the Charlotte bullpen in the first of two games played on Saturday at BB&T Ballpark.

In the nightcap, the two teams once again battled into the later innings. With the game tied at 4-4, the Tides pushed across four runs in the top of the sixth inning to go on for the 8-4 win in a game that was only scheduled for seven innings. RHP Héctor Santiago started for the Knights and allowed four runs on five hits over five innings. RHP Carson Fulmer (1-1, 4.94) gave up all four runs in the sixth inning and was saddled with the loss.
