Knicks Fall in Waning Time to Skyhawks in Home Opener

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, saw the College Park Skyhawks take the game, 110-108, at Total Mortgage Arena Tuesday night.

Both teams remained in striking distance of the other with a nine-point separation at the end of one, 30-21, the lead belonging to College Park (4-3) and a 62-60 halftime score with the Skyhawks edging the Knicks (1-5). The Knicks outscored the Skyhawks 31-26 in the third taking a 91-88 lead into the fourth.

In the back-and-forth affair, the game was decided in waning time. With Westchester down one, Feron Hunt scored a layup on an out of bounds play with six seconds remaining in the game. On the ensuing possession, Brandon Williams knocked in a triple from the left wing to gift College Park a two-point edge with 0.2 seconds left. The Knicks advanced the rock with a timeout but with time only allowing a tip in, a pass inside from an out of bounds was unlucky and College Park escaped with the win.

Hunt (Two-Way) finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Trevor Keels (Two-Way) led all scorers with 24 points and shot 6-12 from downtown-his three makes marking a career-high. Garrison Brooks (affiliate) put together another double-double consisting of 14 points and 11 boards.

For the visitors, Tyrese Martin registered 18 points and six rebounds. Williams ended with 16 points and three assists. Jarrett Culver added 19 points off the bench. Trent Forrest had a 12-point 10-assist double-double. Chris Silva recorded 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Westchester takes a break and returns to action Saturday, November 26 to face the Long Island Nets at 7:30 PM ET.
