Magic Fall Again to Texas Legends on the Road

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, fell to the Texas Legends 122-120 at the Comerica Center.

The Magic faced the Texas Legends for the second time in two days on the road. In the first quarter, both teams shot the ball well with neither opponent gaining much momentum. The first half consisted of a lot of back and forth with 11 lead changes. At the end of the first half the Magic pulled away with a nine-to-two run. Jemerrio Jones led Lakeland in points, assists, and rebounds closing the first half at 58-49.

The Magic kept building on their lead in the second half outscoring the Legends 38-29 in the third quarter. Lakeland finished the quarter with an 18-point lead. At the end of the fourth the Texas Legends crawled back from a 21-point deficit tying the game. In the final minute it was either team's game. McKinley Wright IV hit a clutch free throw to give the Legends their first lead of the half as the Legends came back and won the game.

Zavier Simpson finished with a team-high 22 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. Jay Scrubb posted 21 points and five rebounds. Jemerrio Jones added a near triple-double scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists.

Jaden Hardy had 35 points for the Legends. McKinley Wright IV also had 30 points, nine assists, and four rebounds.

The Lakeland Magic (3-5) will host the Mexico City Capitanes on Friday, November 25 at the RP Funding Center at 7:00 PM on NBAGleague.com.
