SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (3-4) beat the Salt Lake City Stars (2-4), 120-104, on Monday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Santa Cruz started off quickly, building a 16-point lead in the first quarter, and taking a 40-24 advantage into the second. At the end of the first half, the Warriors led the Stars 72-56 with five players scoring in double-figures. Center James Wiseman finished the game with a double-double, tallying 15 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Lester Quinones added 24 points and forward Trevion Williams contributed 20 points off the bench. Center Tyler Cook led the Stars with 12 points.
During the third quarter, the Warriors went on an 8-0 run to take the lead 89-72. The Warriors maintained the lead and closed out the third quarter, 97-78, over Salt Lake City. Early in the fourth quarter, the Stars went on an 8-0 run bringing the Sea Dubs' lead to 101-86. The Warriors gained as much as a 23-point lead in the second half in securing the win.
The Stars were led by forward Paris Bass with 22 points. Guard Ochai Agbaji scored 20 points and forward Micah Potter put up 15 points.
