Hustle Fall to Squadron 94-85; Birmingham Wins Fifth Straight

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle, the NBA G League affiliate of the Memphis Grizzlies, fell to the Birmingham Squadron 94-85 on Monday at Landers Center.

After three back-and-forth quarters, Birmingham pulled away in the fourth quarter, scoring 28 points behind a 26-9 run to end the game.

The Squadron shot 45.5% from the field and 30% from 3-point range compared to the Hustle's 37.5% clip from the field and 23.3% from behind the arc.

Kelan Martin led the Squadron with 23 points and five rebounds. Zylan Cheatham posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Dereon Seabron posted 14 points and six rebounds. Javonte Smart and Kalob Ledoux both posted 12 points each.

Kenneth Lofton Jr. posted a double-double and led the Hustle with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Xavier Tillman followed with 17 points and nine rebounds, and Damien Jefferson added 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Dakota Mathias and Sean McDermott both finished with 11 points each.

The Squadron led the Hustle 24-19 at the end of the first quarter. Memphis fired back in the second quarter, tying the score 40-40 at the half. The Hustle posted 29 points in the third quarter, 16 of which were from Lofton Jr., and led 69-66 going into the final quarter.

The Hustle continues its homestand against the Texas Legends at Landers Center on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7:00 p.m. CT. Fans can watch it on ESPN+.
