Kisio Suspended Three Games For Hit On Quenneville

Austin Ice Bats forward Kurtis Kisio has been suspended for three games for his illegal blow to the head of Corpus Christi Rayz star Justin Quenneville on January 22nd, the Central Hockey League announced on Thursday afternoon. Midway through the second period, Kisio was give a five-minute major for elbowing Quenneville, and was one of four players ejected after multiple fights ensued. The incident marked the second time this season that a hit from an Ice Bat has injured Quenneville. Kisio will be eligible to return to the Austin lineup on Friday, February 1st, when the Bats visit New Mexico. The Rayz next game versus the Ice Bats comes in Austin on Saturday, February 23rd. Quenneville, was playing in just his third game back from injury on Tuesday Night when he took a hit to the head from Kisio. Last season's team MVP, Quenneville had two goals and three assists in two games back and points in 11 of his last 13 games. Overall, Quenneville has a dozen goals and assists for 24 points in 26 games. Quenneville is currently listed as out indefinitely. Quenneville's earlier injury this season was suffered on December 15th in Austin when Ice Bats forward Daniel Veenema hit Quenneville knee on knee. Veenema was not penalized for the hit, while Quenneville was out of the lineup for the following 12 games.

Kisio is a rookie who has four goals and seven assists in 36 games this season. He has no goals and one assist in his last ten games. Both Kisio and Veenema play on Austin's third line.
