Sundogs Acquire Rights to Netminder from Youngstown

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club of the Central Hockey League today announced it has acquired the rights to goaltender Robert McVicar from the Youngstown SteelHounds for future considerations.

McVicar was a fifth round selection (151st overall) of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-4, 201-pound netminder has skated professionally in the East Coast and American Hockey Leagues, including an appearance during the 2005-06 season with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks.

The Brandon, Manitoba native spent four years with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League before turning pro. In 147 games with Brandon, McVicar compiled a 3.05 goals against average (GAA) and a .892 save percentage (SV%). In 163 professional appearances, the 26-year-old netminder has tallied a 2.97 GAA and a .911 SV%. McVicar most recently played with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies and in 59 appearances collected a 3.72 GAA and .896 SV%.
