Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled forward John Zeiler from the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Monarchs recalled center Scott Parse from the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Zeiler, 25, has one assist and 23 penalty minutes in 34 games with the Kings this season. With the Monarchs, he has eight points (4-4=8) and 29 penalty minutes in 37 games this season. The 6-foot, 193-pound native of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania, has appeared in 57 career NHL games - all with the Kings - and has four points (1-3=4) and 45 penalty minutes. Zeiler signed with the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on February 17, 2007. In 37 games with the Monarchs this season, Zeiler has four goals and four assists for eight points and 29 points.
Parse, 23, missed a majority of the Monarchs season due to an injury he suffered in training camp. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound native of Kalamazoo, Michigan, has played in five games with Manchester and collected one assist. In 18 games with the Royals this season, Parse has 16 points (5-11=16) and 14 penalty minutes. Selected by the Kings in the sixth-round (174th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Parse played in 10 regular season games with the Grand Rapids Griffins at the end of the 2006-07 season and recorded two goals and five assists for seven points.
