Kings Recall Voynov; Doughty on IR

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled defenseman Slava Voynov from the Monarchs and have placed defenseman Drew Doughty on the injured reserve list (upper body injury), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. In addition, the Monarchs signed right wing Rob Mignardi to an amateur tryout agreement, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.

Voynov, 21, has not played in the NHL. The native of Chelyabinsk, Russia, has played in two games this season with the Monarchs, recording two points (1-12), two penalty minutes and a plus-five rating. Originally selected by the Kings in the second-round (32nd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, the 5-foot-11, 199-pounder wears No. 26 with the Kings.

Doughty, 21, suffered an injury during the first period of last night's Kings-Flyers game in Philadelphia, a 3-2 overtime win by the Kings. In four games this season he has one point (an assist) and two penalty minutes.

Mignardi, 21, has not played in the AHL. The 6-foot, 186-pound native of Richmond Hill, Ontario recorded 61 points (30-3161) in 68 games with the Ontario Hockey League's Owen Sound Attack during the 2010-11 season. Mignardi participated in the Kings and Monarchs Training Camps this season.
