LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have acquired right wing Steve Quailer from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Robert Czarnik, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced. Quailer is expected to report to the Monarchs.

Quailer, 24, has been with the Canadiens organization since that club selected him in the third-round (86th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He has played for the Hamilton Bulldogs the past two seasons after playing at Northeastern University from 2008-09 to 2011-12.

This year, in 12 games with Hamilton, he has five points (1-45), 15 penalty minutes and a plus-seven rating. A native of Arvada, Colorado, the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Qualier has not played in the NHL.

Czarnik, selected by the Kings in the third round (63rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, has recorded five points (1-45) and 16 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Monarchs this season. The 24-year-old native of Detroit is in his third professional season. In 129 career games with the Monarchs, Czarnik has 34 points (13-2134) and 70 penalty minutes.

The Monarchs return to action with their fourth annual Pink In The Rink game when they host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8. The players will be wearing pink jerseys and skating on pink ice! There will be both a silent and live auction for the pink jerseys and proceeds from the event will benefit Catholic Medical Center's Breast Care Center. Catch all of the play-by-play action of Monarchs hockey with Ken Cail on Monarchs Radio Network WGIR AM 610, WGIRAM.com, and at manchestermonarchs.com presented by Manchester-Boston Regional Airport.
