
Capitals Recall Defensemen Julien Brouillette and Patrick Wey from Hershey

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have recalled defensemen Julien Brouillette and Patrick Wey from the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League (AHL), vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today.
Brouillette, 27, played in 29 games with Hershey this season, registering 14 points (nine goals, five assists) and 10 penalty minutes. The 5'11", 196-pound defenseman scored a power-play goal on Sunday against Norfolk and ranks first among Bears defensemen in goals this season. Brouillette has recorded 64 points (21 goals, 43 assists) and 263 penalty minutes in 238 career AHL games with Providence, Hartford, Charlotte, Lake Erie and Hershey. The Saint-Esprit, Que., native signed with Washington as a free agent on April 5, 2013.
Wey, 22, made his NHL debut on Dec. 7 against the Nashville Predators at Verizon Center. The 6'3", 212-pound defenseman appeared in 14 games with Hershey this season, registering three points (one goal, two assists) and 16 penalty minutes. Wey began the season with the Reading Royals (ECHL), tallying three assists in eight games.
Wey spent four seasons at Boston College from 2009-13, helping the Eagles win two NCAA national championships (2010, 2012). The Pittsburgh native was drafted by Washington in the fourth round, 115th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
