
Kings Loan Petiot To Manchester; Monarchs Loan Three To Reading

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have activated defenseman Richard Petiot from the injured reserve list and loaned him to the Monarchs, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today. In addition, the Monarchs have loaned forward Brendan Bernakevitch and defensemen Tyler Hanchuck and Eric Werner to the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announce today.
Petiot, 23, was placed on the injured reserve list on October 4 (retroactive to September 27) due to a rib contusion and did not appear in a regular season game for the Kings this year. He did appear in three preseason games with the Kings and recorded one assist (0-1=1) and two penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 200-pound native of Daysland, Alberta, was selected by the Kings in the fourth-round (116th overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
Bernakevitch, 23, played the last four years at Harvard University. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan, appeared in 116 games from 2001-05, recording 65 points (24-41=65) and 38 penalty minutes with the Crimsons.
Hanchuck, 23, appeared in 60 games with the Topeka Tarantulas of the Central Hockey League and one game with the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals last season. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, recorded nine points (0-9=9) and 134 penalty minutes in Topeka and zero points with the Admirals.
Werner, 22, played the last four seasons at the University of Michigan. The 6-foot-1, 212-pound native of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, recorded 92 points (26-66=92) and 158 penalty minutes in 144 games from 2001-05.
The Monarchs Care Foundation Golf Invitational raised nearly $10,000 at Monday's annual Monarchs Care Foundation Golf Invitational. Fans joined the entire Monarchs team and coaching staff as they hit the links one last time before the home opener on Saturday, October 15. The tournament included 18-holes of golf, dinner, an introduction of all of the players and coaching staff, a silent auction and a live auction of hockey memorabilia.
The Monarchs home opener is set for Saturday, October 15, at 7:35 p.m. against the Springfield Falcons at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Single seats in the Gold level and 400 seats in the Silver level remain for Saturday's game against the Falcons.
