DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that the Dallas Stars have re-assigned left wing Garrett Burnett to the AHL club.

Signed as a free agent by Dallas on August 15th, 2005, the 30 year-old Burnett did not appear in either of Dallas' two regular season games this season. Last season, the Coquitlam, British Columbia native skated in seven games for the Danbury Trashers of the United Hockey League (UHL) last season, notching one assist and 48 penalty minutes: 7(0/1/1)48.

The 6-3, 246 pound winger twice led the American Hockey League in penalty minutes: 346 PIM's with the Hartford Wolf Pack in 2002-03 and 506 PIM's with the defunct Kentucky Thoroughblades in 1998-99. In 396 professional games, he has accumulated 2576 penalty minutes, 48 points, including 22 goals: 396(22/26/48)2576

NEXT GAME: The Iowa Stars take to the road for their first road contest on Saturday, October 15th when they travel to Peoria, IL. Saturday's 7:05 PM faceoff can be heard on AM 940. The Stars return home for their first Sunday afternoon game the following day. Sunday's contest between the Stars and visiting San Antonio Rampage begins at 5:05 PM.
