Bridgeport Islanders News Release

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will hold Kids' Opening Day when they play the rival Hartford Wolf Pack on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Families are invited to join Southern Connecticut's professional hockey team for a fun afternoon of children's entertainment and a celebration for Storm the mascot's sixth birthday. There will be games, contests and a variety of children's activities, not to mention great hockey, within the Arena. Gates open at 3 p.m.

Storm will be joined by many special mascot friends, including New York Islanders mascot Sparky the Dragon and B.B. the Bridgeport Bluefish. The fan-friendly mascots will shake hands (and paws) and pose for photos with fans. The Sound Tigers will have a Birthday Card Contest for Storm and those who participate will receive a free ticket for an upcoming game. Come up with the most creative birthday card for Storm to have a chance to win a stick autographed by the entire Sound Tigers' team. Storm, himself, will choose the winner!

Test your skills with Sound Tigers Slap Shot Challenge, and enjoy the music of Infinite Frequency. Be sure to catch Silly Billy the Clown and take a flying leap on the FunScape inflatables. After the game, young fans will have an opportunity to take the ice try to score on Storm and his friends. A player autograph session will also follow the game.
