Darius Kasparaitis Assigned to Hartford

New York, October 31, 2006 - New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that defenseman Darius Kasparaitis has been assigned to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL) on a 10-day conditioning assignment.

Kasparaitis, 34, has skated in six games with the Rangers this season, registering one assist and 10 penalty minutes. He missed the first five games of the season still recovering from off-season injuries. Kasparaitis underwent shoulder surgery on May 10, 2006 to repair a tear in his labrum and also underwent surgery on June 14, 2006 to repair a torn side muscle.

The NHL's New York Rangers hockey club, currently in its 81st year of operation, is part of Madison Square Garden, L.P. Madison Square Garden, L.P. is owned by Cablevision Systems Corporation, and includes the New York Knicks (NBA); the New York Rangers (NHL); the New York Liberty (WNBA); the Hartford Wolfpack (American Hockey League); MSG Entertainment; MSG Media, which is comprised of MSG and FSN New York; and the Madison Square Garden arena complex, located in the heart of the New York metropolitan area.
