
Moose Assign Ellis to Victoria

The Manitoba Moose, the AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, announced they have assigned goaltender Julien Ellis to the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL.
Ellis, 20, has appeared in two games with the Moose so far in his first season of professional hockey. He compiled a record of 0-2 with a goals against average of .504 and a save percentage of .882 in losses to Hamilton (10/06) and Rochester (10/08) before suffering a knee injury.
In four seasons with the Shawinigan Cataractes of the QMJHL, the Sorel, PQ native was 88-61-13 in 173 games with a goals against average of 2.85 and a .908 save percentage.
Ellis was originally drafted by the Vancouver Canucks with their sixth choice, 189th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
