Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, October 12)... Want to celebrate Halloween twice this year then grab your Mummy and head down to The Blue Cross Arena for "Sweets in the Suites" on Sunday, October 25th. That night, brought to you by BJ's Wholesale Club, kids can trick-or-treat, be selected to carve pumpkins or have a chance to win trick-or-treating with The Amerks Moose or Eagle, R. Thunder. Fans who wear their Halloween costumes to the game that night will receive best-available seating for as low as $10.00.
"We know that Halloween is a very special night for kids and adults alike," says Amerks President Lewis Staats. "So bring your whole family down to The Blue Cross Arena on Sunday, October 25th when we host our arch rivals the Syracuse Crunch for our 'Sweets in the Suites' trick-or-treat special for the kids. Also, two lucky kids are going to win a chance to go trick-or-treating for one hour on Halloween night with either the Moose or R. Thunder, but this can only happen if you come to the game."
The festivities are part of the team's Third Annual "Sweets in the Suites" promotion, as the Amerks host the Syracuse Crunch at 5:00 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The highlight of the evening is the Best Costume Contests with fan voting selecting the winners. The first contest is for kids ages 5 and under with the winner receiving one hour of trick-or-treating with The Moose on Halloween (Saturday, October 31st). The Best Costume winner for kids ages 6-12 will win one hour of trick-or-treating with R. Thunder. Restrictions apply within the Greater Rochester Area.
"BJ's Wholesale Club strives to support important local community events that benefit children and families," said Donna Woodruff, BJ's community relations specialist. "The 'Sweets in the Suites' event with the Amerks is a wonderful opportunity for us to sponsor both a unique and safe activity for families to do together."
As part of "Sweets in the Suites," all children can trick-or-treat during the first intermission of the game in the suite level of The Blue Cross Arena. Three people will also be selected to compete in a pumpkin carving contest during the second period. The winner will win an Amerks gift bag.
