
Forward Ryan Hillier Joins Wolf Pack From ECHL Charlotte

HARTFORD, October 19, 2009: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager Jim Schoenfeld announced today that the parent New York Rangers have reassigned forward Ryan Hillier to the Wolf Pack from the team's ECHL affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers.
Hillier, a 21-year-old second-year pro, was assigned to Charlotte from the Wolf Pack's training camp September 28. In the Checkers' only regular-season game thus far, a 3-1 win at South Carolina Saturday, Hillier was scoreless with two shots on goal. In 66 ECHL games with Charlotte last season, the 6-1, 195-pound Halifax, N.S. native notched 10 goals and 16 assists for 26 points, and had 26 penalty minutes.
The Rangers selected Hillier in the third round (84th overall) of the 2006 NHL Draft, from Halifax of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In 229 career QMJHL games over four seasons, Hillier registered 86 goals and 104 assists for 190 points, along with 223 PIM.
The Wolf Pack return to action this Friday night, October 23, at Adirondack, facing off against the Phantoms in a 7:30 game (WTIC HD-2, www.hartfordwolfpack.com , www.wtic.com ). The Pack are then back on home ice at the XL Center this Saturday, October 24, with the Lowell Devils in town (7:00 faceoff), and Sunday, October 25, vs. the Worcester Sharks (3:00).
