MOOSE NOTES

ROOKIES ROCKIN' OUT: Moose rookies Evan Oberg and Eric Walsky both hit their groove in Manitoba's double-header against Lake Erie last weekend. After the two-game stretch, both players are on two-game points streaks going into tonight's game. Walsky recorded three points (1g & 2a) while Evan Oberg netted two (0g & 2a). So far this season, Oberg has recorded 16 shots while Walsky has attemped 11.

BEHIND ON THE SHOT CLOCK: For the first time this season, the Manitoba Moose were outshot on Saturday night in a 5-2 loss to the Lake Erie Monsters. The Monsters tested goaltender Daren Machesney 22 times, while the Moose were only able to fire 21 on Tyler Weiman. The most shots the Moose have recorded this season is 44 against the Abbotsford Heat on October 14 (5-4S0W). The highest amount of shots an opponent has fired on a Moose goaltender this season was Abbotsford's 38 on Cory Schneider on October 14 (5-4SOW).

QUICK REBOUNDERS: Every time the Moose have dropped a game this season they have bounced back immediately to win their next matchup. Manitoba is currently 2-0-0-0 after a loss and only 1-3-0-0 after a win. After losing 5-2 in their last contest to the Monsters, the Moose look to get back into the winning column tonight.

Upcoming Opponents

The Manitoba Moose and Hamilton Bulldogs play each other in two consecutive games this week, starting tonight at Copps Coliseum. Last season, the Moose were an even 4-4-0-0 against the Bulldogs (2-2-0-0 in Hamilton). Historically, Manitoba is 24-35-2-5 against Hamilton and has faced the club twice in the Calder Cup Playoffs - both times being eliminated by the Ontario team. The Moose will face the Bulldogs eight times this season and after tomorrow night's rematch will not return to Copps Coliseum again until April 4 & 6, 2010.

Player of the Week Nominee

Guillaume Desbiens

Moose winger Guillaume Desbiens is this week's nominee for AHL Player of the Week thanks to a three-point week in four games... Desbiens scored his first goal of the season and then scored the shootout winner in Wednesday's 5-4 shootout win over the Abbotsford Heat... On the weekend, he added his second goal of the season which was his 50th point as a Moose in just over one season... Desbiens however finished the week -3 in the plus/minus category but also had 13 shots on net...
