Kevin Schaeffer Returned To Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Kevin Schaeffer has been returned to Reading from the Providence Bruins of the AHL. Schaeffer (6'1/200) (23), who hails from South Huntington, New York, played nineteen games with the Royals during the regular season, scoring two goals, assisting on five others (seven points), picking up twenty-one penalty minutes, and playing to a plus-thirteen. On December 15, 2007, Schaeffer was loaned to Providence where he scored one goal, assisted on another, and registered six penalty minutes in thirty-one games. In a separate transaction, the Royals placed defenseman Dave Pszenyczny on the three day injured reserve.

The Royals and Elmira Jackals face one another in Game Three of the North Division Semi-Final best-of-seven playoff series tonight (April 15, 7:05 pm) at First Arena in Elmira, New York. The series returns to the Sovereign Center for Game Four on Thursday, April 17 (7:05 pm). The game night broadcast tonight will begin at 6:35 pm with the pre-game warm-up show on ESPN Radio 1240 am in Ephrata, as well as on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com. Streaming video is available on a pay per view basis through the B2 Networks.
