
Kernels Make Roster Move

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce that OF/!b Eric Oliver has been promoted to Rancho Cucamonga of the California League and that Jeremy Cruz joins the Kernels from Extended Spring Training in Tempe AZ. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the moves on Thursday.
Cruz, 23, was selected by the Angels in the 13th round of the 2009 Free Agent Draft out of Stetson University in Deland, FL. He did not play in 2009 and this is his first season in professional baseball.
Oliver hit .238 in 37 games for the Kernels with two HR and 17 RBI and was part of the Kernels 2010 Opening Day Roster.
Cruz will join the Kernels in Peoria and be in uniform and available for tonight's 6:30 pm game with the Chiefs. With today's transactions, the Kernels roster stands at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with two players on the disabled list.
The Kernels wrap up a three game series tonight in Peoria and return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Friday, May 28th. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com
