River Bandits Limit Snappers to One Hit to Earn Sweep

DAVENPORT----, Iowa - Four River Bandit pitchers combined to one-hit the Beloit Snappers Thursday Night at Modern Woodmen Park to earn the three game sweep over the division rivals with a 2-0 win. The Bandits took a no-hitter into the eighth until Anderson Hidalgo hit a two-out double for the Snappers only hit of the night.

Eric Fornataro (5-2) picked up his team leading fifth win after he went five scoreless innings for the River Bandits. Fornataro walked two and fanned three in the win. Chris Notti and Jesse Simpson combined for three scoreless innings following Fornataro. Aaron Terry (8) recorded his eighth save when he struckout two in the bottom of the ninth inning. Michael Tonkin (0-2) was charged with his second loss of the season after he surrendered two runs on six hits through five innings.

The Bandits scored two runs on eight hits in their third straight win over Beloit. Ryan Jackson broke out of his slump on a 2-for-3 night with an RBI. Robert Stock chipped-in with a pair of hits and a run scored.

The River Bandits hit the road for their longest road trip of the season on Friday. They will start with a four-game series in Burlington. Michael Blazek (2-2) is set to face-off with fellow right-hander Tyler Sample (1-2) to open the series with the Bees. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Community Field in Burlington.
