The boys are back in town as the Kernels return to Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium and open a seven game home stand. Here's a preview of what you can expect each day:

April 27 - April 29 vs. Clinton LumberKings:

The Kernels open a three game series with the Clinton LumberKings, the Midwest League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners. It's a 98.1 KHRK Two Dollar Tuesday. Selected sandwiches, snacks and beverages are just two dollars. It's also KRAFT Singles Tuesday Evening Tickets. Buy one ticket, get one ticket free from KRAFT Singles with purchase. Bring your package wrapper to Tuesday's game for a steal of a deal. Visit kraftsingles.com for more info! Gates open at 5:30 pm and the Kernels take on Clinton at 6:35 pm.

One lucky fan, age 18 and older, could win $10,000 on Mix 96.5 FM/WMT AM 600 Winning Wednesday. If the Kernels perform a certain feat on the field in a particular inning, such as hit for the cycle as a team, or the shortstop makes all three outs in an inning. Gates open at 5:30 pm and the Kernels take on the LumberKings at 6:35 pm.

Bring your thirst to the stadium on 100.7 The Fox Thirsty Thursday where 12 oz. draft beer is $1.50 and fans can get 20 oz. bottles of soda and water for just $2. The Kernels welcome students, parents and staff from Horn Elementary in Iowa City for their night at the ballpark. Game time is 6:35 pm and the gates open at 5:30.

April 30 - May 3 vs. Kane County Cougars:

The Kernels open a four game series with the Kane County Cougars, the MWL affiliate of the Oakland Athletics. The Kernels welcome special guests from Van Allen Elementary, Garfield Elementary and Summit School for their nights at the stadium. It's also a Rock 108 FM Progressive Beer Friday where 16 oz. draft beer starts at $1 when the gates open and goes up $1 each hour until reaching full price. Gates open at 5:30 pm and the Kernels take on the Cougars at 6:35 pm.

Celebrate May Day with an afternoon game under warm sunny skies. The Kernels take on Kane County at 2:05 pm with the gates opening at 1 pm. The Kernels welcome special guests from Coolidge, Jackson and Penn Elementary to the game for their special day at the stadium.

Sundays are always fun days and this Sunday is no exception on 104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Day. First, get autographs from the Kernels on the main concourse from 1:20 until 1:40 pm. Meet Glass Slipper Entertainment's Sleeping Beauty on the concourse and enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo during the game. And after the game run the bases and play catch in the outfield, thanks to Beef O'Brady's. The Kernels welcome guests from Novak and Linn Grove Elementary schools to the game as well as church groups as part of our first Faith Day of the year. Gates open at 1 pm and the Kernels take on Kane County at 2:05 pm.

The Kernels wrap up the seven game home stand with a noon game on Monday, May 3rd. Gates open at 10:30 am so that fans can take part in the KCRG TV9 Weather Academy before the game. The Kernels welcome groups from St. Ludmila's, College Community Schools, Mary Welsh Elementary, Jefferson and Kennedy HS to the game. The Kernels take on Kane County at 12:05 pm.

104.5 KDAT Sunday Family Fun Day: Every Sunday home game, enjoy selected snacks for $1. Fans can get autographs from the Kernels players on the concourse from 1:20 to 1:40 pm. Play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo for a chance to win a trip to see an Angels game. And after the game, kids (and adults) can run the bases and play catch on the field. Enjoy the balloon artistry of Papa Balloon on the concourse and visits from Glass Slipper Entertainment's Storybook Princesses.

Tickets for all Kernel home games are available on-line at www.kernels.com; in person at the Kernels Ticket Office, or by calling 896-7560 during Ticket Office Hours. The Kernels Ticket Office is open from 10 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday and from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. The ticket office is closed on Sunday, but opens at 11 am on Kernel Sunday Home games.
