Lansing, Mich. - Sean Ochinko collected two hits and drove in two runs as the Lansing Lugnuts defeated the Dayton Dragons 7-3 on Sunday afternoon to complete a three-game series sweep. The Lugnuts have won eight of their last nine games and improved to 11-7 on the season. Dayton fell to 9-9 with the loss.

Lansing scored three times in the first inning, keyed by Ochinko's run-scoring double, to take a 3-0 lead. The Dragons battled by, scoring one run in the third on a triple by Alex Oliveras followed by a single by Didi Gregorius to get on the board. The Dragons added another run in the fourth on a two-out, bases loaded walk to Shane Carlson to make it 3-2, but Lansing answered with four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a commanding 7-2 lead. The Dragons did not score again until the ninth on back-to-back doubles by Mark Fleury and Frank Pfister.

Dragons starting pitcher Brian Pearl (1-1) suffered the loss. He worked three and one-third innings, allowing four hits and seven earned runs with three walks and no strikeouts. Pearl had tossed six scoreless innings in his last outing without allowing a runner past second base.

The Dragons finished with seven hits. Fleury led the way with two doubles and a run scored. Pfister's RBI double in the top of the ninth extended his hitting streak to 10 straight games, matching the team season high by Henry Rodriguez.

The three-game sweep by Lansing was a reversal of the first series of the year between the two clubs when the Dragons swept the Lugnuts in three games April 8-10.

The Dragons do not play on Monday. They will open a three-game series with the Lake County Captains at 7:00 p.m. at Fifth Third Field on Tuesday night. Justin Walker (0-2, 6.08) will start for Dayton. The Captains are the Midwest League affiliates of the Cleveland Indians.
