Kenosha Kings to Fielders: "We're Kenosha's Real Team -- Game On!"
August 15, 2011 - North American League (NAmL)
Lake County Fielders News Release
Zion, IL. The Kenosha Kings Baseball Club has issued a challenge to the Lake County Fielders, a minor league baseball team in Zion, IL: "Never mind the Kenosha County Fielders! We're Kenosha's Team, and we're ready to come down to Zion!"
The Lake County Fielders are playing a modified North American League schedule for the remainder of the 2011 season, with open dates available to play the Kings. If the two teams meet, the Fielders would permit the Kings to supplement their current roster with additional minor league and MLB experienced players.
"The Fielders front office is taking the challenge seriously, and will decide shortly," said team spokesman Bernie DiMeo of DiMeo Communications. "This could be a real County vs. County rivalry. The game of baseball can always use that kind of energy, with some real bragging rights at stake."
The Fielders will announce their remaining 2011 game schedule tomorrow.
