San Angelo Colts News Release
Edinburg, Texas---Roadrunners' starter Ryan Falcon held the Colts' bats in check for the third time in the series and Antonio DeJesus delivered a key double in the third inning to lead Edinburg to a 3-1victory and a series win over San Angelo Monday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Roadrunners scored first when Blake Sanders led off the bottom of the third inning with a single. Jonathan Fernandez bunted him over and reached on an error before Antonio DeJesus doubled to drive in both runners. Osiel Flores would later single with two outs to plate DeJesus and make it 3-0 Edinburg.
The Colts answered with a run in the top of the fourth. Beau Riportella singled to start the inning, then Cory Patton knocked a basehit and Daryl Jones hit a sacrifice fly to put San Angelo on the board. It was Jones' league-leading 83rd RBI of the season.
Falcon (2-0, 1.06) pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on four hits. Colts starter Brian Henschel (7-7, 5.29) was the tough luck loser after he pitched his league-leading fourth complete game of the season and gave up three runs, one earned, on eight hits.
Tuesday night the Colts return to Foster Field for the final eight home games of the season. They will take on the McAllen Thunder from Tuesday through Friday. For tickets call 94-COLTS or visit sanangelocolts.com.
