
Falcon Delivers Series Win for Roadrunners

EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners defeated the San Angelo Colts 3-1 Monday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium behind the arm of Ryan Falcon who pitched complete game five-hitter. Edinburg took three of four from San Angelo for the series win.
Falcon (2-0) allowed one run while scattering five hits and striking out six for his second win of the season.
The Roadrunners (31-46) got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the third against Colts starter Brian Henschel. Blake Sanders led off with a single and then moved to second on a fielding error. Antonio De Jesus then followed with a two-run double that allowed Sanders and Jonathan Fernandez to score. Two outs later, Osiel Flores hit an RBI single to center scoring De Jesus from second and giving Edinburg the 3-0 lead.
Beau Riportella led off the top of the fourth with a single and then moved to third on a single by Cory Patton. Daryl Jones then hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Riportella to score making it 3-1 Roadrunners.
That would be all the runs for the Colts (46-30). Falcon (2-0) did not allow a runner past second base after the sixth inning and only walked one on the night.
The Roadrunners hit the road to Harlingen for a four-game series with the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings starting Tuesday night at Harlingen Field.
