Kelly Cup playoff action returns to Wheeling

Wheeling, WV â The Northern Division and Eastern Conference Champion Wheeling Nailers will close out the regular season this weekend with games against Trenton and Atlantic City on the road. They will then look ahead to starting the opening round of the playoffs at home.
The Nailers have set game one for Thursday April 8th at 7:00 PM, and game two is set for Friday April 9th at 7:30 PM both at WesBanco Arena. Games three and four will be on the road against an opponent that is still to be determined. Then the Nailers will return home for game five if necessary, which is set for Wednesday April 14th at 7:00 PM.
The Nailers opening round series will be a best of five games series, they will play the winner of a one game series between the fourth and fifth place teams in the Northern Division. Currently Johnstown is in fourth place and Trenton is in fifth, but Reading is one point out of fifth with a game in hand on Trenton. And Johnstown is tied with third place Atlantic City, but the Boardwalk Bullies have two games in hand on Johnstown.
The last time the Nailers were in the Kelly Cup Playoffs was in 1997-98 when Head Coach Peter Laviolette led them to the Northern Conference Finals. The Nailers have 104 points, the most ever by the Wheeling franchise, and are looking to win the Henry Brabham Cup for the most points in the regular season for the fourth time.
Playoff packages and individual playoff game tickets are now on sale, individual game tickets range from $12-$15 and five game packages run from $55-$70.
