Kehoe, Mullen to coach Penguins on interim basis

Wilkes-Barre, PA - Rick Kehoe and Joe Mullen will serve as interim coaches for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, taking over for Michel Therrien and Mike Yeo, it was announced today by Chief Executive Officer Jeff Barrett.

Kehoe has been a member of the Penguins organization for more than 30 years, serving as a player, scout, assistant coach and head coach. He guided the NHL Penguins to a 55-81-14-10 record during the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons.

Kehoe ranks third on the Penguins all-time scoring list with 636 points and fourth with 312 goals. The native of Windsor, Ontario played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League with Toronto and Pittsburgh, recording 767 points (371+396) in 906 career games.

Mullen played six seasons with the Penguins (1990-95, 1996-97), recording 325 points (153+172) in 379 regular season games with the team. A three-time Stanley Cup winner (1989 with Calgary, 1991 and 1992 with Pittsburgh), Mullen became the first American to score 500 goals in the NHL on March 14, 1997.

A 2000 inductee into the Hockey Hall of Fame, Mullen recorded 1,063 points (502+561) in 1,062 games with Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Calgary and Boston.
